We did a set recording for my debut album 🕺🕺🕺
After finishing preparing my "A Fool's Quest" set, I wanted to record a full set for Youtube. So first, I practiced playing the set. And when I felt ready, my wife and I set a date for the recording.
The idea was to have a front camera that records the full set, one from above to film what I did on the controllers, and as a third perspective, my wife would randomly film from diverse positions. And my phone would film from another angle in 9.16 ratio for shorts/reels purposes.
It was a lot to set up. Nearly 2 hours until we were ready to film.
I was nervous, because to this day I never did something like that. It took a few starts to getting over the uneasy feelings. After that it felt normal and I could move naturally 😅
At last we needed 2 days to finish the recordings. The set lasts an hour and we had to start over, when I made an error.
As we looked at the footage from the different cameras, we noticed that the camera that was supposed to film from above didn't save the recordings. But that wasn't that bad, because my wife did a wonderful job and filmed from good angles and we had nice controller recordings.
The audio was recorded directly on the mac via OBS.
Then I started to cut the video. This too, needed some time. But I'm happy with the end result.
Overall, I can say that the whole process required a lot of energy. We were both pretty exhausted after the recording-days 😄 But it was an educational experience.
Thank you very much Almedina❤️ for helping me with this process. Thanks to you it was a success. 🙏🙏🙏
